| Jiennecel is a nine year old deaf
born girl. She visited the special school in Cagayan de Oro City for a
few months but then the single mother wasn't able to pay for the
transport to the city. In October 2008 she was hit by a car and her leg
was broken and the hospital supposedly treated it but since they only
did a fixing (and no operation) the bone healed together in an
asolutely wrong angle (first picture) and the girl wasn't able to walk
again. After we talked to the doctors we organized a surgery with a
nail that connects the two bones. |

| Now Jiennecel is trying to learn how
to walk with a crutch. Unfortunately we hear that the mother
doesn't practise as much as she should. But we don't know if this
crutch is really the right thing for the girl. August 2009: According to Thata the nine year old girl doesn't want to learn to walk with the crutch and the mother is too busy organizing the daily food to manage the stress with the daughter. We order a pair of "normal" crutches for children in Switzerland and want to take them to the Philippines. Maybe the refusal to cooperate by Jiennecel is only because she can't express that she's not able to walk with this crutch? Should our experiment fail we're sure that the crutches will be welcome at the German doctor's clinic. |
